The McGurk Effect

Post by Mark

I’ve been seeing this video float around website to website for a few days now but just got to watching it now. It looks boring but it’s actually interesting, or the McGurk effect is interesting at least. [YouTube]

Realtime face substitution

Faces from arturo castro on Vimeo.

This is freaky. With a bit of improvement you’ll be able to pretend to be whoever you want during a video chat. People are going to have a lot of fun with this on chat roulette.

Glass Igloos Hotel

Post by Mark

This is a pretty cool looking hotel and seems a lot more practical than the typical ice hotel. It’s resort filled with glass igloos which you can stay in and they’re fully equipped with bathrooms and luxury beds. Since they’re made of glass you can watch the stars while sitting in bed. I wouldn’t mind staying in the hotel for a night or two. [Link]

Do you know what a theremin is?

Post by Mark

After watching the Zelda video below I got a recommendation for another video for the Zelda theme song played with a theremin. I had no idea what a theremin was until a few moments ago and now I’m absolutely amazed. It’s basically an instrument that is played without any physical contact. You can see a picture of one above and read more about it on Wikipedia [Here]

You could also watch the video below of Gnarls Barkley’s Crazy being played with a theremin (and other supporting instruments. Pretty cool.
