Weezer – Africa

Post by Mark

This is a pretty cool story. A Weezer fan created the twitter account @weezerafrica and started trolling the band to try and have them cover the song ‘Africa’ by Toto. Weezer ended up trolling the guy back by covering the far less popular Toto song, ‘Rosana‘. In the end, Weezer actually released the cover to ‘Africa’ and it turned out to be their biggest hit in over a decade. God I love the internet.

Jon Hopkins – Singularity

Post by Mark

Jon Hopkins released his fifth album a couple of days ago and its so good. Style wise it doesn’t venture too far from his 2013 release Immunity which would easily making it into my top 30 albums of all time (if I had a list like that).

Singularity is out on Spotify and Apple Music.

While we’re on the subject of Jon Hopkins. I captured the photo above of Jon Hopkins back in 2014 during SONAR in Cape Town. The place wasn’t actually dark, it was the opposite with bright lights flashing and lots of colors. While taking my photo I just happened to capture this one instance when just one light was flashing which resulted in the photo above.
